Who we are

RouteCharge is developed and operated by Olaf Tempelaars, an individual developer based in the Netherlands — not a registered company. Privacy contact: support@routecharge.app.

What RouteCharge processes

RouteCharge works without an account. We do not collect names, emails or passwords for app use.

• Location — with your permission, your current position is used to show nearby chargers and plan routes. Coordinates are sent as anonymous query parameters to our map-data providers (TomTom, Open Charge Map) to return stations and routes. RouteCharge does not link them to your identity.
• Route input — origins, destinations and vehicle/battery settings are processed on your device and, for route calculation, sent as anonymous coordinates to TomTom.
• Locally stored data — your profile name (optional), selected vehicles, trip preferences, favourites, recent and saved routes, and a charger cache are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to RouteCharge — we operate no server or database of user data.
• Subscriptions — purchases run entirely through Apple. RouteCharge never sees or stores payment card details.
• Support email — if you contact support, we receive what you send, including your email address.

This website

routecharge.app uses Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate visit counts and which pages are viewed. It is cookieless and does not use fingerprinting — it cannot identify you individually or track you across other sites. No advertising, no cross-site tracking, no data sales, on the website or in the app.

Third parties

TomTom (maps/routing/charger data), Open Charge Map (charger data), Apple (Maps display, payments, App Store), Vercel (website hosting and the aggregate analytics described above). Each processes requests under its own policy.

Legal bases and retention

Processing is based on your consent (location access, which you grant and can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings) and on contract performance (providing the app’s core functionality). On-device data remains until you delete it or the app; provider request logs follow their own retention policies. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your request, then deleted unless we’re legally required to keep it longer.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, correction or deletion of personal data we hold (in practice: support correspondence, since no other personal data is stored by us). Contact support@routecharge.app. Local data can be removed by deleting the app.

Children

RouteCharge is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We will update this policy in the app when processing changes.
